Are to deliver building technology at Seppä shopping centre in Jyväskylä
Are Oy Press release 10 May 2016 at 9.00 a.m.
Are and Skanska Talonrakennus Oy have concluded an agreement on the provision of building technology systems in Jyväskylä. Under the agreement, Are will provide heating, water, ventilation, electrical, automation and sprinkler services. The contractor appointed to build the Seppä shopping centre is LähiTapiola. Construction is already underway and the shopping centre is due to be completed in September 2017.
“At Skanska, what we look for in a project partner is the ability to work together as a team and deliver the required capacity and resources as well as reliability and cost-efficiency. Are meets all these criteria,” Jorma Mustakangas, Regional Manager at Skanska.
The project is delivered on a turnkey basis.
“We have worked together with Skanska on a number of projects in Jyväskylä. The turnkey approach is an excellent opportunity for us to implement the best available building technology solutions at the Seppä shopping centre,” Markku Mäkinen, Regional Director at Are, commented.
The shopping centre will extend over two floors, with an underground car park below. The building will offer some 24,000 sq m of leasable area.
The new shopping centre will be built adjacent to the existing Prismakeskus and it is intended that the two facilities will form a single unit, connected via a roofed indoor market area. Investment has been secured from businesses in the LähiTapiola Group.
