Are carries out energy-efficient major renovation of Ilmarinen’s apartment buildings
The Are Group has entered into an agreement for the complete renovation of the interior of the As Oy Helsingin Hanuripolku 4-6 property, which is owned by the Ilmarinen Mutual Pension Insurance Company. The agreement came into force in May 2010, with the work expected to be completed by the end of 2011. Are is the project management contractor at the site. The other partners in the project have, for the most part, also been chosen.
The As Oy Helsingin Hanuripolku 4-6 property comprises two apartment buildings, together containing 13,485 square metres of space. There are 142 apartments currently at the property, but once the renovation has been completed, their number will increase to 161. The project includes building services for all apartments and a complete renewal of all surfaces, while some of the apartments will see changes made to their layout.
In addition, several major measures to improve energy efficiency will be carried out at the property. One of these is a centralised, mechanical, heat-retaining ventilation system, the aim of which is to cut energy consumption.
