Are Group to supply building services to Vantaa waste-to-energy plant
Vantaa Energy is building a waste-to-energy plant in eastern Vantaa near the intersection of Ring Road III and the Porvoonväylä motorway. Scheduled for completion in 2014, the plant will generate energy from source-separated mixed waste.
Are is responsible for the HEPAC contract for the plant, the HEPAC equipment’s electrical systems and sprinklers, automation and cooling systems. The contract also includes electrical work for the power plant buildings. This is a major contract for Are and is subject to a fast construction schedule.
“We have carried out similar power plant contracts in recent years, which has given us valuable experience of such projects. At industrial sites we always collaborate with a number of other operators, and occupational safety issues are emphasised strongly at such a large site,” says Pepe Perkiö, Business Area Director for Are’s Building Services Contracting.
