Are is the contractor in the renovation of Ilmarinen’s residential property
The two apartment blocks that were built in the 1970s will be renovated to meet current requirements for housing and energy consumption. Are will also carry out the electrical, ventilation and air conditioning work. The work will be completed in October 2013.
The renovation will maintain the property’s value, and ensure the buildings’ life cycle and success on the rental market. All interior surfaces, fittings and building services will be replaced. Changes will also be made to the layout to increase the number of apartments.
“In connection with the renovation, Ilmarinen also wants to improve the energy efficiency of its premises in a practical and cost-effective way. In addition to enhancing indoor conditions, the energy efficiency of the property will also be raised to modern standards. The windows and roofs will be replaced. A modern and energy efficient centralised mechanical ventilation system, which takes care of heat recovery, thus reducing total energy consumption, will also be installed.
“The renovation of Palikkapolku is a large-scale project which will allow us to utilise our solid expertise in project management and building services, and our experience in implementing energy efficient solutions in renovations,” says Marko Otranen, Area Director at Are.
Are carried out a similar renovation project for Ilmarinen in 2011 at its As Oy Hanuripolku 4-6 property.
