Are and Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company have agreed on using the Are Sensus system in the technical building solutions in the extension of Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo. Are Sensus is a comprehensive building services system, encompassing plumbing, ventilation and electrical systems.

The extension of Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo, called Flamingo Wing, will have 232 hotel rooms and its area will be roughly 10,000 m². For Are, the value of the agreement is nearly EUR 4 million.

“Both we and the developer Varma became convinced of the operational reliability and cost efficiency of Are Sensus. The planning and construction of the hotel property emphasises energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions. Breeam Very Good environmental certification will be sought for the building,” says Pentti Schroderus, Project Director at Rakennuttajatoimisto HTJ Oy.

The work of the hotel extension began in June 2017 and it will be completed in the autumn of 2018.

“It is an honor for us to contribute to the construction of such a significant hotel property with our Are Sensus system. The system will create comfortable indoor conditions for hotel guests in heating and cooling seasons alike. In addition, this project is a fine example of how Are Sensus is suitable for properties designed for different purposes, such as offices, hospitals, schools and hotels,” says Vesa Hakkarainen, Business Area Director at Are.
