The cooperation between Are and Senate Properties will expand significantly as a result of a procurement decision that was made on 27 March 2017. The agreement, which will enter into force at the beginning of June, will bring several of Senate Properties’ buildings under the scope of Are’s maintenance services. The number of properties maintained by Are, particularly in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, will increase significantly.

Concert venues and an art gallery to be maintained by Are

With the procurement decision, Are will provide property maintenance services for the Helsinki Kulttuuritalo and the Opera House, as well as the Cygnaeus Gallery located in Kaivopuisto.

“When it comes to historic and cultural buildings, strong technical expertise and the significance of condition management are emphasised. The work we have done in other historic buildings owned by Senate, such as the Ateneum Art Museum, the Sinebrychoff Art Museum and the Finnish National Museum, creates a good foundation for starting work on new properties,” says Timo Kiiskinen, Account Manager at Are.

High-quality, secure maintenance operations

The beginning of June will also mark the start of cooperation in several buildings requiring important security measures. In addition to its work in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Are is preparing to begin maintenance operations in Western Finland and Oulu.

“Precise quality documentation, a strong focus on developing security-related operations and the right price level have helped us to gain several new maintenance properties. However, the most significant individual factor in a successful bidding process is still a strong commitment to customers and the resulting development of our operations to better meet the customer’s needs and quality requirements,” says Jyri Seppänen, Head of Maintenance at Are Property Services.
