Kesko’s new main office building in Kalasatama – Are involved in electrical contract

Kesko is building a new main office building, K-kampus, in Kalasatama, Helsinki in cooperation with Haahtela, the project manager, and Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company. “The six-storey, 27,000-square-metre office building that fills nearly an entire city block will serve as a workplace of approximately 1,800 Kesko employees,” says Leif Backman at Kesko.
The designers of the building wanted to hear the opinions of the employees who will be working in the building. The working groups set up to support the design work were given the opportunity to test and comment on, among other things, proposals for the everyday functioning of the campus, the digital work environment and flexible new working models. The new main office building is designed to take into account different working needs and modularity of spaces.
The construction of the new office building started at the beginning of this year. Are’s contract is scheduled to last from spring 2018 to summer 2019. The value of the contract is EUR 5 million.
